What happens to mixed recycling at the facility

Here’s a short video of a recycling facility in New York City that processes the city’s residential single stream recycling. They don’t talk about contamination in the process, but do a good job of demonstrating how the material goes through the different sorting stages, preparing it for the commodity markets. Fascinating!
